Portrait of Thomas Paine for Free Society magazine for the article about how his ideas are still valid nowadays.
The idea for the portrait was to present Paine as a man who is rooted in the 18th century yet who is still very modern.

To sketches of Thomas Paine - the old vs the contemporary:
The illustrated portrait is based solely on 18th century etchings and paintings as there is no photographic reference of Thomas Paine. This gave me lots of freedom to prepare a more modern version of the philosopher.
